I started off with demolition. I’ve seen it on HGTV. it’s easy takes 3 or 4 swings of sledge hammer from the homeowner and in next scene, they are start building the new walls… WRONG

The first and most important thing before demolition. put a vinyl sheet up to keep the dust from getting all over the house. (well, wasn't that successful, but hey, better than nothing!)

Remove the toilet, and then stuff newspaper to keep tools and dirt from falling in.

Start removing the shower surround. I didn't want to damage any structure, I used small hammer and slowly remove the tiles and cement backing section by section.

After a Long and Dirty couple days, I finally got all the surrounds out. The stud in the middle is where shower wall was, and the space behind was unused other than for the recessed cabinet.

Removed the soffit above shower area, and cleaned up the debris. I didn't want to shut off the water main, so left the stud holding the shower handle and water pipes.

Hand chiseled the floor tiles. the tiles came of rather easily, but the glue or the thin set underneath did not.
