I haven’t mowed my yard for a week and half, but because it’s so dry, our lawn hasn’t grown at all…
Today, when I get off the work, I noticed there’s no sun… by the time I got into the car, there were a huge dar, cloud moving very fast toward us. I could see a few block down from us, the trees were violently shaking because of strong wind. Our neighborhood roads were covered in tree branches,
we got home, and found that our power is out. well, somehow we’ve gotten used to it… we have power outage almost a few times a year. We went around the house and opened window, get some cool air go through the house, and… then… RAIN!!!
I’ve never so excited about having rain. I usually even hate them… but after so long without any rain, seeing our lawn turning yellow, hearing crunch when stepped on, I was really waiting for this rain. Even though the storm was short, 15-20 minutes of heavy rain does bring some green back to my yard (or at least make me feel that way…), and also brought the temperature down to around 75 F° instantly (it was almost 100 F° before the storm).
Radio was talking about it will be sunny and hot tomorrow again, but with chance of “Stray Rain”. I’ve never heard of the expression, but I totally get it. With some hope of having some more rain to our yard, and not as hot weekend, I checked the tomorrow’s weather.
Yep, I was wrong… It will be hot…
