I just upgraded to Safari 6, and found out that they have eliminated RSS feature from it, and moved it to Mail.app
I don’t mind other new features/change such as address/search field integration, stored password list, reading list, etc. However, loosing RSS Feed feature upset me a bit…
There are a few websites that I regularly go to and they only have updates once or twice a week. Safari’s RSS feed in book mark was such a convenient way of tracking those sites, and view them when I want to.
also, some of the RSS feed only provide summary, and when I want to read I need to go to full articles. in Safari, no problem. I were on the web browser already, just open in a new tab, and continue reading, once done, close the tab and now i’m back to see rest of the feed.
I tried other RSS Feed applications, and found that Safari is the easiest and best suited for my use…
You can see it’s not just me feeling this way at the Apple’s Discussion board. I really hope Apple will bring the feature back to the Safari’s next update, but to be honest, I don’t think they would do…
but… really? to read WEB SITE, I need to go to Mail applications???
If I could complete the entire task of reading RSS and opening the original article, within the Mail.app, I don’t mind (well, I do, but less…), but if I need to go back and forth between Mail.app and Safari, it is a big problem for me..
Just wanted to rant, and if I find any solution, I’ll update here…
