Getting a New Bathroom

First, I’d like to thank him for helping me, and also being a great teacher. One of the best part of this project (beside getting brand new bathroom) was all the things I learned from him. Rick taught me from how to use some tools, to small tricks that you know only by experiences. He was very detail oriented and precise. We love the work he did and I learned a lot from him. I was working with him as much as my time allows, and I did a large part of this project myself but without his help, I couldn’t finish in such time and high quality.

And then, rick fitted the ceiling panel. Also in this picture you can see that he added a thin strip of wood to bring the wall out a bit to fit the cement board to the wall tab around bathtub, and also to fix the un-evenness of the ill-fitted existing stud.

I spent most of the weekend chiseling the floor. Our house is on concrete slab, and it is was not flat at all! the difference between the highest and the lowest was over 1/2", and it's also sloped up around the area to the bedroom..... it is so dusty, and even with vinyl curtain between bathroom and bedroom it made nice thin coat of dust all over the house!

We originally had baseboard register in our bathroom (along with all other rooms in the house). we converted to a floor register by chiseling the opening and then fitted a L-Bracket to hold the register in place.
